One of the questions I get asked all the time is when did I start baking?
I don’t exactly fit the bill of your traditional baker being a rugby player and sports graduate. My current career is something of a swerve from my original path.
I have in fact baked for my whole life. Some of my earliest memories are of baking with my Granny and Mother. It is something that I have always done and never really thought of a skill that I could turn into a business.
Cake Doctor came about almost completely by mistake. In the void between jobs and not having a great success finding one. I got to thinking what else can I do for work? I though well i can bake and I am quite handy with a spanner. So doing a street food van seemed like it would be the perfect option for my fledgling idea. However with a tiny budget most vans were out of my price range then an idea flashed into my head what about an ambulance. It fitted all of my requirements but how was I going to get my hands on one those. Unsurprisingly eBay came to the rescue and this beauty appeared an only and hour away. With the ambulance secured Cake Doctor was born.
After languishing in storage for the past decade. This 1979 ambulance was about to be put back into service in a very different roll to which it was first imagined for.
